2027 Fiesta Medal Design Contest

Workforce Solutions Alamo invites the 13-County Alamo Region’s young artists to showcase their creativity by designing our official 2027 Fiesta Medal! The contest is open to elementary, middle and high school artists living in the following counties: Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, McMullen, Medina and Wilson counties.
Sharpen your crayons as this is your chance to make your mark during Fiesta while highlighting the mission of Workforce Solutions Alamo — connecting people to careers.
Fiesta Medal Theme:
“WORKFORCE SUPERHERO”
Workforce Solutions Alamo helps people find jobs, learn new skills and meet local employers. When people have good jobs, they are able use their talents, help others, provide for their family and contribute to making our community stronger.
Your design should creatively capture the spirit of everyday heroes who empower our community by connecting people to meaningful careers and building a brighter future.
In the spirit of Fiesta, use bright colors, fun ideas and your imagination to tell the story of how careers, culture and community come together to build a bright future!
Award Recognition Structure/Prizes:
One winner from each school category — Elementary, Middle and High School — will be recognized and receive a $250 prize. Among the three category winners, awards will be distributed as follows:
- Elementary Division Winner – $250
- Middle School Division Winner – $250
- High School Division Winner – $250
Each division winner qualifies for the grand prize. Of the three division winners, one will be selected as the overall grand prize winner and will receive the following:
- Grand Prize – Additional $250 prize and the official 2027 Workforce Solutions Alamo Fiesta Medal Design
*All winners will be recognized in various digital and print communications.
Submission Deadline:
September 30, 2026, at 5 p.m. Central Time.
Submission Guidelines
- A high-resolution, high-quality photo of the artwork taken with a smartphone or camera. Image of artwork should be submitted as an attachment on the form – jpeg or png file.
- If artwork is generated digitally, original artwork may be submitted as long as it is high-resolution. AI artwork and copyright images will not be accepted.
- The submission form must include the following:
- Artist First and Last Name
- Artist Age
- Artist School Name/District Name
- Artist County of Residence
- Artist Contact Information – Phone and email address
- OPTIONAL: Title of Artwork and a brief description of the design – Provide “The Story Behind the Artwork”
- If Artist is under 18 years of age, please include:
- Parent/Guardian First and Last Name
- Parent/Guardian phone number and email address
- Parent/Guardian to state in body of email “I agree to the terms and conditions of this contest.”
Rules/Requirements:
- Artwork should focus on the 2026 Workforce Solutions Alamo Fiesta Medal Theme: “Workforce Superhero”
- Artwork must be original designs created specifically for this contest.
- One individual student artist per entry, no collaborations or group designs.
- Only one entry per student.
- Contest is open to all elementary, middle and high school students in the 13-County Alamo Region: Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, McMullen, Medina and Wilson counties.
- Any traditional two-dimensional artistic media such as color pencil, painting, computer graphics, etc. is acceptable.
- AI generated artwork and copyright images will not be accepted
- Artists should not sign artwork or provide their identity directly on the artwork.
Usage Rights:
- By submitting a design, you grant Workforce Solutions Alamo a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute your design for any promotional, marketing, or communication purposes, including but not limited to print, digital, and social media.
- Workforce Solutions Alamo reserves the right to make minor adjustments to the design for production purposes.
Judging Criteria:
Artwork will be judged on creativity, originality, relevance to theme and visual appeal.
The judging panel will consist of Workforce Solutions Alamo staff, Board of Directors and community partners.
