2026 ALAMO MASCOT DESIGN CONTEST

Workforce Solutions Alamo invites artists, visionaries, and creators across our 13-county Alamo Region (Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, McMullen, Medina, and Wilson counties) to design our very first official mascot.
This is your chance to bring your imagination to life, show off your artistic talent, and help shape the face of our organization. Bring your boldest ideas and become part of our story, making a lasting impact throughout the Alamo Region!
Award Recognition/Prize:
One winner will be awarded as follows:
- Winning Design – $500 and honorary recognition at the 2027 Workforce Solutions Alamo Impact Awards
- Mascot will be unveiled at the 2027 Workforce Solutions Alamo Impact Awards
- Will be recognized in various Workforce Solutions Alamo digital and print communications.
- Become part of the Workforce Solutions Alamo History
Submission Deadline:
September 30, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time.
Themes to Consider:
Careers/Industries, South Texas Roots, local and Texas culture, regional wildlife, or local symbols that reflect the impact of Workforce Solutions Alamo.
Submission Guidelines
- A high-resolution, high-quality photo of the artwork taken with a smartphone or camera. Image of artwork should be submitted as an attachment on the form – jpeg or png file.
- If artwork is generated digitally, original artwork may be submitted as long as it is high-resolution. AI artwork and copyright images will not be accepted.
- Form submission must include the following:
- Artist First and Last Name
- Artist Age
- Artist Address and County of Residence
- Artist Contact Information – Phone and email address
- OPTIONAL: Title of Artwork and a brief description of the design – Provide “The Story Behind the Artwork”
- If Artist is under 18 years of age, please include:
- Parent/Guardian First and Last Name
- Parent/Guardian phone number and email address
Rules/Requirements:
- Artwork must be original designs created specifically for this contest.
- One individual artist per entry, no collaborations or group designs.
- Only one entry per person.
- Contest is open to the general public in the 13-County Alamo Region: Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, McMullen, Medina and Wilson counties.
- Any traditional two-dimensional artistic media such as color pencil, painting, computer graphics, etc. is acceptable.
- AI generated artwork and copyright images will not be accepted.
- Artists should not sign artwork or provide their identity directly on the artwork.
- Mascot design/character will need to be able to transfer to a 3D-model that can be wearable.
Judging Criteria:
Artwork will be judged on creativity, originality, relevance to theme and visual appeal.
The judging panel will consist of Workforce Solutions Alamo staff, Board of Directors and community partners.
Usage Rights:
- By submitting a design, you grant Workforce Solutions Alamo a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute your design for any promotional, marketing, or communication purposes, including but not limited to print, digital, and social media.
- Workforce Solutions Alamo reserves the right to make minor adjustments to the design for production purposes.
