Mario is the former Executive Director and CEO of the Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation, a Type A Economic Development Organization in Brownsville TX. Prior to that, Mario was the Director of Government Relations & External Affairs, Toyota Motor North America based in San Antonio, TX. Prior to that, he was a Toyota manufacturing supervisor for the same company. (2005-2018 total with Toyota North America). From 2020-2022, Mario was the VP of Training and Development for Noble Texas Builders. He now focuses on consulting and other business ventures. Mario has a strong background in Government Relations, Media Relations, Corporate Communications, Community Engagement, Education & Workforce Development, Economic Development, Executive Leadership, and Lean Manufacturing.

Mario is a retired U.S. Marine, having served 23 years of active duty. He is a Naval Justice School graduate from San Diego, CA and served as a Command Legal Officer. He also served, in different years, as an Information Systems Specialist, Aviation Logistics, and International Supply Chain. He is a decorated combat veteran of the Iraqi War and has completed long term deployments in South Korea, Japan, and the Middle East. Mario was born in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas Mexico and raised in McAllen Texas. Mario is fluent in Spanish and English and has some basic knowledge of Japanese.
