A proud Texas native, Jessica Dersen serves as the Workforce Development Manager for the Seguin Economic Development Corporation. In this role, she works collaboratively with employers, education partners, and community organizations to strengthen Seguin’s talent pipeline and support a resilient, future-ready local economy.
With more than 14 years of experience in workforce development and nonprofit management, Jessica is passionate about expanding access to careers particularly for underserved communities and opportunity youth. Her work focuses on building practical, sustainable pathways that connect education to meaningful careers while helping businesses attract, develop, and retain talent.
Previously, Jessica served as Director of K–12 Partnerships and Career Awareness, with Workforce Solutions Capital Area. Throughout her career, she has successfully designed and implemented local talent pipeline initiatives such as teacher externships, job shadow programs, summer bridge programs, youth apprenticeships, pre-apprenticeships, and other work-based learning models.
In recognition of her leadership and community impact, Jessica was named the 2025 Guadalupe County Rising Star of Professional Excellence by the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce. She is also a graduate of Leadership Seguin, Class of 2025, and an active member of Seguin’s Young Professionals.
Outside of her professional work, Jessica is a passionate animal advocate and co-founder of a 501(c)(3) foster-based animal rescue organization in Central Texas.
