MOM MAKING ENDS MEET

Before the YES Program Allison was a single mother working as a waitress full time and barely making ends meet. She enrolled in the Youth Program and decided to become a Registered Dental Assistant. She completed the RDA program at Incarnate Word while working nights and weekends. Allison enrolled in the YES Work Experience program and was placed in dental office. Allison has recently been offered full time employment as an RDA. This new career has allowed Allison to quit her waitressing job and spend nights and weekends with her son. She is incredibly happy and will continue to grow in the dental field.

MARRIED FATHER OF TWO

Before coming to Workforce Solutions Alamo Christopher, a married father of two, was struggling in finding employment as a manager. He participated in the WIOA Program and received monetary assistance to keep up with his household bills while he searched for suitable employment. Due to his diligent job search, he was offered a position as a Maintenance Director at the MTC Kyle Correctional Facility. Through his employment, he feels less stressed about his financial situation.

UTILIZED THE RESOURCE ROOM

Alfredo was a universal customer who had been let go from Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC). He utilized the resource room to apply for unemployment benefits, register in WorkInTexas.com, and periodically came into the office to ask numerous questions and seek assistance with unemployment issues and job search.  Alfredo obtained employment and took the Oath of Office as OIG Investigator IV with Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
