The Institute for Economic Development (IED) provides ongoing consulting, training, technical, research and information services, in tandem with University-based assets and resources, and other state, federal and local agencies, to facilitate economic, community, and business development throughout South Texas and the Border Region.

South Texas Business Fund

The South Texas Business Fund (STBF) helps small businesses grow.  Established by the City of San Antonio as a not for profit and self sustaining certified development company, its purpose: to provide guidance and lend money to small businesses so that jobs would be created and sustained, and the overall quality of the local economy would be improved. The STBF loan programs include: SBA 504, SBA Microloan, the EDA Revolving Loan Fund (RLF), Inner City Loan Fund and the Bill Sinkin Loan Fund Programs.
